When should you eat shilajit?

Shilajit comes as a blessing from the rocks of the Himalayas. Always having been a very important part of the Ayurveda, it has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic as well as folk medicine for several hundred years.

Now, the entire world has recognized its incredible benefits and shilajit is becoming increasingly popular as a supplement. More and more people are turning towards this supplement to overcome certain ailments as well as for overall well-being. Today it is easy to buy shilajit online, just as it is to buy other products and foods from Kashmir.

Whether it is overcoming anaemia, chronic fatigue, high altitude sickness, improving memory and brain health or gaining energy and vitality, enhancing sexual wellness, delaying the process of ageing or building overall immunity, nothing works quite amazingly well like shilajit.

Moreover, being a relatively safe supplement, almost everyone can consume it; irrespective of their age. People with certain conditions such as heart diseases, hemochromatosis and pregnant or lactating women are advised to avoid shilajit.

Here, we will discuss the best way and time to consume this supplement.

When should you eat shilajit?

The best time to take Shilajit would be on an empty stomach every morning. If you are consuming shilajit for the first ever time, start with taking shilajit only once a day. After taking it once a day for about a week or so, you can gradually increase its dosage to twice or thrice a day.

Although it can be taken any time in the day, it is best to have it in the morning. Have it once in the morning on an empty stomach and the second dose before you go to sleep for optimum benefits.

How to take Shilajit?

The best way to take shilajit is:

1. Take a pea sized amount (around 300-500mg) of shilajit and dissolve it in either warm water or warm milk.
2. Let it dissolve completely for a few minutes and then drink it.

Although this is the recommended dosage, it is advised to talk to your medical practitioner once before consumption.
